ABOUT

Parallel computers are a reality in our everyday lives. Even our real-life tasks benefit from parallelism. But so far, coding games are mainly focused on sequential programming practices and concepts! BlocklyPar is a platform inspired by the Blockly-Games, from Google, to introduce parallel programming concepts through games involving day-to-day tasks. There are 3 tutorial games currently available: Introduction to Sequential Programming with Blocks, Introduction to Tasks, and Parallel Programming. Blockly Par is specially targeted to freshman students in Computer Science majors. We expect that, at the end of the games, the students feel challenged to explore parallelism in their programs.
